  1. Release Notes for Tony La Russa Baseball 3 v. 1.2

  4. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
  5.  
  6. *       The patch is no longer processor specific, and is designed to work
  7.         with 386 computers and up
  8. *       You MUST still have the Tony 3 game CD in your CD-ROM drive in order
  9.         to play the game.  The game will NOT run unless the game CD is in the
  10.         CD-ROM drive.
  11.

  13. How to install and use these patch disks:
  14.  
  15. 1)     Insert Disk #2 of the set into your floppy drive, then go to your
  16.        C:\TONY3 prompt.  Type "copy a: unzip.exe" and hit your <ENTER> key.
  17.        Most floppy drives are designated as "a:", however if a: is an
  18.        incorrect drive specification for your floppy drive, please substitute
  19.        in the correct drive specification.
  20.  
  21. 2)     When you have unzip.exe copied, from your C:\TONY3 directory type,
  22.        "unzip a:tony3new.zip" and hit your <ENTER> key.  This will begin the
  23.        process of unzipping the patch file.  You may be asked if you want to
  24.        overwrite the existing Tony 3 files; type "A" for all and hit your
  25.        <ENTER> key.

  27. 3)     When the files have been unzipped, from your C:\TONY3 directory type,
  28.        "setup" and hit your <ENTER> key.  This will put you into the main
  29.        screen of the TLRB3 setup program.  Go completely through the setup
  30.        program, including the joystick calibration.
  31.  
  32. 4)     When you have completed the entire setup program, from your C:\TONY3
  33.        directory type, "tony3" to begin the game.

  36. Bugs addressed by this patch:
  37.  
  38. 1)     "Divide Overflow" errors        10)     Misc. joystick crashes 
  39. 2)     Most Stats, Inc. difficulties   11)     Animation speed/choppiness
  40. 3)     Create Teams feature            12)     Misc. sound card problems
  41. 4)     Jumbotron not working           13)     Misc. baserunning problems
  42. 5)     Days Unavailable feature        14)     The "Qualify" button
  43. 6)     Joystick problems               15)     Singles off wall

  48. There are also numerous other areas of the game's code that have been
  49. adjusted to improve gameplay.
  50.  
  51. If the game has problems finding your CD-ROM drive, you can pass the drive 
  52. letter of your CD-ROM drive as a argument to TONY3.  For example, if your 
  53. CD-ROM drive is E: then type TONY3 E at the DOS prompt.

  56. ATTENTION WINDOWS '95 USERS!!!
  57.  
  58. If you have Windows '95 installed on your computer and have experienced
  59. problems when running Tony 3, please note that this patch should eliminate
  60. those difficulties when used in the manner described below.
  61.  
  62. In order for Tony 3 to run correctly on a Win '95 machine, you should run the
  63. game from the MS-DOS mode.  Do NOT run the game from the desktop, as this may
  64. cause the game to crash or lock-up.
  65.  
  66. To run Tony 3 from the MS-DOS mode, click on the "shut down" button in the
  67. bottom left-hand corner of your Windows '95 desktop, then select the "Restart
  68. the computer in MS-DOS mode" option.  Your computer should now restart itself
  69. in the MS-DOS mode of Win '95.

  72. New features:
  73.  
  74. The "Copy Announcer" feature
  75.  
  76. Three utilities called COPYLON, COPYHANK, COPYMEL have been provided to copy
  77. the play by play portion of the announcer voice from the CD-ROM to your hard
  78. drive.  Each announcer requires approximately 22 Meg of disk space.  To use  
  79. this new feature:
  80.       
  81. 1)  Insert your Tony La Russa 3 Game Disk into the CD-ROM.
  82.   
  83. 2)  Go to the directory where you have installed the game; the default 
  84.     directory is C:\TONY3.
  85.  
  86. 3)  For each announcer you want to copy to your hard drive, run the
  87.     appropriate utility.  For example, to copy Hank Greenwald to your hard
  88.     drive type "COPYHANK" and then hit your <ENTER> key.
  89.  
  90. The utility will now copy the play by play section into a directory named
  91. SNDS30 on your hard drive.

  94. The "Delete Player" function
  95.  
  96. This function will allow you to delete a player entirely.  To use this new
  97. feature:
  98.  
  99. 1)  Put the player on the reserve list using the "Player Roster" screen or
  100.     "Pitching Staff" screen.
  101.   
  102. 2)  Go to the "Edit Player Stats" screen.
  103.   
  104. 3)  Change the player's LAST NAME to the name "EMPTY" and click on DONE.
  105.   
  106. The player will now be deleted from the team.
